When is the Steveston public fish sales open and closed?

I am going to have a short visit to Vancouver on Dec. 2-3 and wishing to stop by Steveston Village to see the fisherman selling the fresh seafood. Would you please suggest to me the best time to come and the time the fish market open and close? Thank you very much!

Thanks for writing, Shirley. As you plan to visit on a weekday, Steveston shops and restaurants will be open, but public fish sales may not. Although the selection is better on weekends, the public fish sales direct from the boats is an all week activity. I find that most fishers fish during the week, returning to sell off-boat Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as that's when many visit Steveston. So, knock yourself out buying fresh fish from the fishers almost any day you wish, but you'll have better selection Friday thru Sunday from 7 ~ 9 am to 5 ~ 9 pm.
