The Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market Off to Great Start

My friend, Catherine, and I too off early this past Sunday to enjoy breakfast at Steveston Cafe, then crossed the street to catch the market's Grand Opening ceremonies. Hundreds streamed by, in the direction of the market, as we ate breaky. When we finally got to the market site the area was packed with thousands of locals and visitors wanting to check out Steveston's brand spanking new market.
It seemed that every available square meter had a table selling everything from bread to popcorn; preserves to planted hanging baskets. Fresh herbs and arts and crafts were also available. If future Sundays turn out as well attended as this one, it looks like Steveston may finally have the permanent market many locals, including myself, have been waiting for.
The Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market will be open 11 am to 4 pm every Sunday until September 28, 2008.
