The Best Hair Cut, Best Food & Best Stay I Ever Had In BC

I wished that I knew of Steveston Village eight-years ago when I started driving long-haul between Toronto and Vancouver. If I did, I would probably be calling it home today. The company I drove for would put my co-driver and I up at a five-star hotel in White Rock. There is a Wall Mart and lots of places to eat, fast food that is, and with all the hair cutting salons and barber shops, not one could cut my hair like The Gentleman's Chair across the street from the Steveston Hotel, where the room's are clean and the staff are always friendly. You don't have to go too far for a cold brew, where I met this gentleman named, Amas, who is skipper of a fishing boat who offered me a job after giving me a tour of his boat. I really enjoyed talking with him that night and for a fisherman, he sure met a lot of interesting people in his life. I still keep in touch with him. The hotel restaurant serves a hardy breakfast to start the day. The other restaurants in the area, with different varieties of fresh seafood, had made me want to try a different restaurant every week. I was not big on seafood, but I sure am now. In the end, my company may have saved money by me staying in Steveston, because I paid for my own accommodations, but it was worth it to me. So, to the person who wants Earls, Milestones and the neighourhood pub, I suppose you would like to see Wall Mart and Ronald open up a burger stand on the wharf also. I don’t live in Steveston Village, I was a visitor, and because Steveston does not have all the big franchises is what makes it a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. I’m working north of Fort McMurray now. I don't drive long haul anymore, but I'm going to be revisiting Steveston Village in the future where the food is great and so are the people. Thank you Steveston. Garnet Adams, Toronto, Ontario. Email redstone58@gmail.com.
