Steveston Harbour Dredging Started Yesterday

Dredging for 2010 started yesterday. We apologize to all harbour users for the lack of notice as this was supposed to begin in late February or early March, but due to a scheduling mishap, FRPD had to take advantage of an earlier window. As the dredging is being done with FRPD’s Columbia, be advised that there may be short periods where the entrance is blocked off during dredging operations. Vessel traffic will not be unreasonably affected, but be prepared for short delays.

Areas to be covered are the harbour entrance, 7th Ave Pier, the south faces of 6th Ave Pier, C float at 3rd Ave Pier and D float at 3rd Ave Pier, and the possibly the entrance to the Britannia and Atagi boat basins.
