Steveston Eateries Rake in Golden Plate Awards

The Straight magazine recently held it's 13th annual Golden Plate Awards. Four local eateries came in first, second or third under six different categories.

The big winner was Gudrun, a tapas bar in the middle of the village. If you wish to have one of the best soups you've ever eaten while flirting with a willing companion in Richmond's best restaurant, which you later decide to have sex in, hey, Gudrun is the place to be: or so the standings seem to indicate.

Of course, Steveston put in another good showing under the Best Fish & Chips category. Pajo's, a local chain with two locations in Steveston, tied for second place, whereas Dave's Fish & chips came in third.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Blue Canoe Waterfront Restaurant, which came in third place under the Best New Restaurant in Suburbs category.
