Spectacle of Lights Returns to Steveston

The Historic Fishing Village of Steveston will again be celebrating Christmas with a glowing display of light, when the annual Spectacle of Lights returns on December 7 ~ 8, 2007.

Friday, December 7:
The sound of the Cannery whistle will initiate the start of the musical procession at 6:00pm. Join the parade as it makes its way from Fisherman's Park to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, where a programme of music and special ceremonies will be held. After the Christmas tree has been lit, plan to spend the evening visiting the local shops (open late for Christmas shoppers) or have dinner at one of Steveston's many fabulous restaurants. Evening entertainment and hayrides will be available at the Steveston Community Centre.

Saturday, December 8:
Bring the kids down to Steveston for this special day. After shopping and enjoying lunch on the boardwalk, make your way to the dockside at 2:00pm when Santa will arrive at Steveston Wharf by whale watching vessel. The Fraser River Fiddlers will provide entertainment, and Santa wil be escorted by the RCMP to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery NHS where photo opportunities will take place.
