Stickler for detail delivers wonderful dining ambience at Tapenade Bistro
by Michelle Hopkins, Special to The Sun
Its owner, Vince Morlet, is simply a stickler for detail. He always finds ways to surprise his loyal clientele. Time after time, the local restaurateur offers the best local fare with little twists on favorites—such as the Caesar salad with crab or the carpaccio with bison instead of beef—all the while never skimping on stellar service and a great wine collection. My wife and I have dined here several times (dinner only) and are constantly impressed. Our most recent visit was truly outstanding, no doubt the best we've had in Richmond, and one of the better meals in any restaurant in the Lower Mainland. The chef focuses on local foods, the "Duo of Tuna" I had was unbelievably good, and if you go, try the Gnocchi as a starter. Probably the best I've ever had. My wife had a pasta dish (with short rib) that she was also raving about. The daily specials are really worth trying. Click here to read or post comments. |
