Review: Sockeye City Grill

I've been going to the Sockeye City Grill for years. I find their food consistently fresh and tasty. It's not fine dining, but food is well prepared. My favorite is the Seafood Hotpot. Their scallop and prawn is always nicely prepared and I absolutely love their fried calamari. Always cooked up perfectly, not chewy at all. Hubs loves their fish and chips. I normally not a fan of fish 'n chips, but the ones they offer at the Sockeye are absolutely delicious!

Fish & Chips
by: Leo

Was at this restaurant Sunday noon with my wife. She had the Seafood Pot, and said it was "Excellent." I had the Halibut & Chips... 1 piece, thought it was a Sample Size. Very small portion. Fish was great, as for the fries, they were terrible. Pre-made, Frozen Type. For a restaurant such as this, you would think they would be hand cut fresh. Very disappointed, will go to White Rock next time.

Brutal service
by: Bob

Was at the pier last Sunday so I thought I would get some take out as it sunny out. Went to the take out window two waitress's chatting beside the window for two minutes before helping. Ordered food and 28 minutes later still no food. I approached the window to ask why and the same waitress asks if she can take my order. I said no I am waiting from half an hour ago. So she goes to check and five minutes later a bald guy brings my order. I ask him why did it take over 30 minutes for my order? He says some times the restaurant gets very busy, as he says this I look at a restaurant that is more then half empty. I said I was quite disappointed and he shrugs his shoulders and says there's ketchup there help your self. Didnt even say he was sorry not once. I told him I will never eat here again because of the poor service. He just walked away like he didnt care. And the fries were cold like they were sitting there for awhile. I will never go to this place again. Horrible service and didnt seem like they cared. Do not eat there.
