Looking

Hey Dave, a short, short story... I'm looking out the window of our home, watching small boys become bigger boys. Ten years of watching, waiting and observing, sometimes the moments go by painfully slowly, other times so quickly you feel the rush, then moments escaping so swiftly you want to cry.
I drink white wine and clear the dishes after dinner.
I talk to my father-in-law who wants to connect at 85
and faithful, steadfast and living a consummate life of moderation.
We are at the mercy of time and a greater story.
I trust that Mercy is wider and grander than anything else.
Cuz life is a mystery... Yet, I have been given so much.
Let me not forget in my forgetfulness
that remembering is the most important discipline,
and let me be ever waiting for the mercy of the Merciful.
Ever wakeful that beyond this will be a time when the waiting,
the struggle to understand will be gathered, reconciled, held gently with resolve
then finally, a remedy will be given and received and all will be well!
Yes, all will be well!
Hope you are well...
The weather is improving, although today is not a good example! Hope we can go for a coffee some time soon. Working 3 days a week and busy applying for VCC's Digital Graphic Design Program for the fall. Will know by mid-June if it's a go or if I'm destined to walk through some other door....
P.S. Would like to do another article soon for fun
Let's be in touch soon,
Erika
Hi Amigo,
Was just thinking about you, then there you were... Far out, man.
Thanks for the short story. Boy, that was heavy. Now I'll have to rest my brain ;-)
Call me your next free day when the sun shines and water is still in its liquid form and I'll spot you a hot cuppa java.
Adios Amigo,
Dave
