Yes! Steveston is well worth it if you have a stopover more than 4 hours as Steveston is only 20 minutes from the airport. Keep in mind that a taxi will run you about $25.00 and up one way, so if you know someone, call or simply take a bus to this little gem of the Lower Mainland. It would be advisable to visit on a sunny day to get the beauty of the docks and stroll along the boardwalk between the Steveston Village and Britannia Shipyard. If it is raining, you may want to take in lunch at any of our family oriented restaurants, then visit the Gulf Of Geaorgia Cannery (check first to see operating hours). Ask the locals where they eat and visit those establishments.

Just might be, depending on what you would like to see by: Dave Davis
Thanks for writing, Joan. You will need a minimum of 2 hours, almost half of which would be used for getting to and from Steveston via taxi (approx. $20 each way). The remaining hour could be spent on a quick walking tour of the village. Nothing less than 3 hours if taking the bus, as you would have to transfer up to twice, depending on the hour, but no less than once. This will take 45 to 60 minutes each way, but the bus exchange is right in the village. For more information on getting to Steveston, or go to Translink for transit info, or here for transit maps.
The above would be pretty rushed, and I would recommend at least 4 hours total to get here to enjoy a more leisurely walkabout enjoying the village, the scenery and the people. The village is compact, with most major attractions nearby.
