My father-in-law, Paul Piatocka, grew up on a farm in Alberta. He moved to Steveston, BC at a young age and soon joined the gillnet fleet where he fished for 55 years until his retirement. He took out membership with the UFAW union. He served as president of the Steveston Local 7 for a number of years. Then sitting as a member of the union general executive board.

Paul's dad, "deedo" Piatocka had his own strawberry farm right in Steveston and had alot of people working for him. His grandsons use to plow with the old tractor to get it ready. That was alot of work. Also, around March they had this Run with Ooligans. My father and I use to love eating them. They were so good but, I believe they are getting scarce.

Here's a list of Paul Piatocka's fishing boats:
1st boat "Perry Wayne"
2nd boat "Venture No. 1"
3rd boat "Miss Lisa"

My father-in-law was the kindest, most caring, honest and hard working person I have ever known and I dearly miss him, like so many others.
