Determine Ahead of Time What Seafood is Being Sold Off the Boats

My wife and I really enjoy visting Steveston throughout the year. We usually try to hit the wharf to purchase salmon (specifically Sockeye) and other kinds of seafood. However, the last few times that we drove to Steveston there wasn't many fishers selling off-boat fish. My question to you, "Is there some way that we can find out when sockeye salmon or halibut is being sold?" My wife and I enjoy Steveston. We will walk through the shops, have lunch, visit the museums and knowing when certain types of fish are available at the wharf would help us select the times to visit Steveston; kind of like killing two birds with one stone.
