Courtyard Galleria on the move
(Steveston, BC Canada)
The Community Arts Council of Richmond and their Courtyard Galleria will be moving this February. As they will no longer have a courtyard, they have changed the name of the new gallery to ARTISAN'S GALLERIA.
They have secured a retail space, which will be large enough to house both the Council and the Galleria, as well as having more space to showcase and offer a larger selection of work by local and B.C. artists and artisan's.
It is in the next block east from their present location, on the North Side nestled between the Cannery Café and the Tandori Indian restaurant. They are very excited about this new space, as it will allow them to introduce more work by local artists and artisan's, thereby offering more selection of quality juried work in one location, and may even have enough space to again be able to offer art classes, etc.
The current location will closed the last week in February, and they are hoping for a mid-March reopening. So check their website www.richmondartscouncil.com or call 604-241-2790 for more information.
Also, during February, you may want to phone 604-241-2790 to make sure that they are open before dropping in, just in case they are at the new location... painting, etc. As a non-profit organization, they rely on volunteers to assist in the Galleria, as well as doing the improvements in the new space. This can sometimes result in a closure of the shop for a short period of time, so better to be safe than sorry by phoning.
The new address is #130 - 3651 Moncton Street, Steveston B.C. V7E 3A5. Tel: 604-241-2790; email cacr@richmondartscouncil.com.
