Can I buy fresh sockeye today Sept. 8th? Reply: Thank you for asking, Lynn. The fact is, I don't really know. The sockeye season is over, although many fish are flash frozen at sea, so you may still be able to get some. The Steveston Harbour Authority maintains a Catch of the Day page which lists all boats reported to be in the harbor for off boat sales, and what they are selling. There is still quite a few boats listed as selling salmon, but what species, I do not know.
