The Beatmerchant carries an eclectic selection of music CDs, music and film DVDs, great vintage LPs (records), posters and memorabilia that you wouldn't, perhaps, find in the big box electronic outlets. In fact, one of the reasons for starting the store was because Frankie could never find what he was looking for in the usual music outlets. Often, "They had never heard of what I was looking for," said Frankie. The three Brits figured there had to be a better alternative to big-box stores, so The Beatmerchant was born. | | ©The Beatmerchant—The Beatmerchant, CD & DVD shop on 2nd Avenue near Bayview Street. |
Customers reaction to The Beatmerchant, so far, has been fantastic, and is best summed up by one customers comments: "At last! I have found a music store which recaptures my youth." The store has recently increased in size, adding an extensive range of world, Roots and Folk section to their already fine selection of Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/R&B, Reggae and Classical. Also, they have doubled the number of vinyl LPs, as well as adding a listening area for customers to sit and listen to their CDs before purchasing. Also increased is the range of CDs and DVDs carried on mind and body relaxtion. The new age selection was also improved. New to the store this month are some great 60's posters of the Doors, Hendrix, Cream, Dylan, Stones and the Who, all in psychedelic colors. In fact, they carry something for everyone, and if you can't find what you want in the store, they will try to order the item for you. So, if your music tastes lean toward the vintage period of the '50s through the '80s and onwards, drop by and say HELLO, and have a chat with Frankie, Rupert or Trevor.
