Brittani works primarily with pastels, acrylics, and oils. She works in two styles, highly realistic acrylic inks using a technique of stippling and pointillism (taking an average of one hour per square inch to complete), and figurative abstractions in pastels, acrylic paint, and oil paint. With regard to what inspires her art, Brittani says, "I am inspired by nature, our human relationship and interaction with nature, and the intimation of a spiritual presence in nature."

The west coast is an important influence in Brittani's art. Her father, a fisheries biologist, used to bring her to his lab and have her draw detailed images of anything

small enough to fit under the microscope's lens. She grew up exploring tidal pools, learning survival skills on the Pacific Northwest's rugged coast, hiking the coastal mountains, and participating in various water sports from SCUBA diving to fishing.

Avid explorers, Brittani, her husband and dog, have traveled thousands of miles exploring the backroads of British Columbia. Wherever she goes, sketchbooks and a camera are always ready to record the standout scenery in her travels. Whether realistic or abstract, Brittani's artwork examines the symbiotic relationship between herself and the environment.

Brittani is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and holds SFCA status, a member of the Pastel Society of Canada and holds PSC status, a member of the Pastel Society of America and holds PSA status, and a member of the Pastel Association of Canada.
